MRSA or Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus has, in recent years, become a dangerous and important issue in the sports world. Many NHL and NFL Players have been hospitalized due to bacteria from their equipment entering their bodies through a cut or abrasion, these infections can be limb-threatening and even have resulted in death.
All athletes are at risk. Many young children, as well as high school and college athletes has developed serious infection from MRSA.
